    checkmate

Do my work myself but have friends who pays a guy to collect their bike at their house in the week, does all the work needed and delivers again.
I see nothing wrong with it. If they dont want to work on their bikes and can afford the service, who fucking cares. Even if he gets stuck with a broken down bike, there are always people more than willing to help out.

At least they support the small business owners trying to make a living servicing bikes.

    It is what it is.
Without getting into the details about servicing bikes, always put a price on your time. I have a family member who earns a huuuuge salary, yet he washes his own car. Not for the satisfaction (Which I too can understand) but to save 80 bucks. But then you also get the folk who drive to a gym only to run on the treadmill.
Beer, so much more than just a breakfast drink.
If I had saved all the money I spent on beer, I'd spend it on beer.

It has nothing to do with menial tasks, but I can see you don't get it.
People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day. And doing nothing often leads to the very best kind of something.

If you ride, at least learn the basics of fixing things on your own bike out on a ride, should not have to rely on others just because they are helpful.

Whether you want to service it or not yourself that is up to you.

I took the time to learn how to do everything myself due to bad service from dealers, home mechanics etc.
