Well done OZ! Long day of running that. How does the body feel?

Crazy to think that in the old days you wouldn’t have finished cos cut off was 11hrs. My mom did it 3 times and her best was 9:15 on the up run.

I even met Wally Hayward that year when I was there cheering her on. He finished his last comrades at 80 and the year before finished in 9:44. Bloody amazing!!! 😯

Thanks a million guys. Was a great experience and the happiness to reach that finish with a bit of time to spare, well I just cannot describe it. Felt fantastic.

Reaching Drummond at 5 hours was huge for me and it was then that I knew I just had to manage all the niggles home slowly but surely and I would make it in time. Cramps started setting in at 35 kays, so it was a struggle, but so worth it

For many a comrades is just a tick in the box so you have an answer to roadies and people who know eff all about running.

"oh you run, have you done comrades? I have a friend who has run comrades" -Usual answer- No, it is a short flat race on tar with a water station every 5km, maybe do it as a training run one day....

Similar to the other common one-

"Oh you ride enduro, have you done the roof? I have a friend who has done(Probably Bronze) Roof."

Oz has had a run at Skyrun a few times, here is some insight into comparing them...

Any finish at the comrades is a win, even if its twice as long as the winning Lady!

Wonder if a bakkie with M1.2 cash on drove in front of me at a 6hr pace if I would've been able to keep up . . . .
